Pick of the Day (Tomorrow Edition): Chris Isaak

If you’ve seen movies like Eyes Wide Shut, Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart you’re doubtlessly familiar with Chris Isaak. That’s because the director in each instance (Stanley Kubrick in the first film, David Lynch in the other two) included songs by him in the soundtrack. Not that Isaak needs an in like that to be a name in the music biz. Not with the pipes he has, and the matinee idol good looks that has seen him act in a number of TV shows and movies.

Tomorrow night at 8 p.m. he’s at Casino Regina Show Lounge. Last time I checked the casino website tickets ($75, $80) were still available.

To close, here’s video of Isaak performing “Somebody’s Cryin'”.

  1. I love Chris Isaak but too pricey for me at the moment! He also had his awesome TV show, which introduced the world to the “Anson Dance”.

  2. OH my God! $80 is a small price to pay to see that man in close proximity. I saw him a couple of years ago (for free, granted) at an outdoor show in Lewiston NY, and he was great. Really great. He’s a true showman – the likes of which you almost never see anymore. That voice! That band! That head of hair! And the costume changes! Those suits (which fit him perfectly, I might add) are worth the price of admission alone. Go! Go! Go! If I were in town, I sure would.

  3. Most shows at the Casino have a $5 price differential. “Main level” tickets are priced higher than “balcony level” seats
