An Important Message from your Favourite Bruised and Beat-Up Rodent

Like all media outlets, Prairie Dog is struggling and needs your help.

Prairie Dog makes Regina better. For more than 30 years we’ve covered this city and province from a fact-based, progressive and unapologetically urban perspective.

For three decades, Prairie Dog has reported on and fought for affordable housing, workers’ rights and fair wages, Indigenous people and minority communities, climate action, academic and scientific independence, downtown revitalization, sustainable urban planning, and local arts, culture, film and music. We’ve stood up for libraries, art galleries, the film industry, heritage architecture, public enterprise and Crown corporations.

We’ve rabidly supported the 2SLGBTQ+ community, public workers, debt-crushed university students, musicians, authors and artists.

And we’ve done it while making jokes, being a bit weird and generally laughing in the face of disaster (and ad boycotts from conservative business owners and their bought-and-paid-for politicians).

We’ve shown you who we are. We believe in you. We need you. And we think you agree this city — and province — needs Prairie Dog’s voice.

Please help us keep barking.

If you value what we do and if you can afford it, please become a monthly donor today. We need 1,000 donors contributing an average of $10 (one local craft beer plus tip!) every month.

We also need generous lump-sum donations (again, if you can afford it).

Together, we can save our unique and important patch of local media. And we can grow this into something better than it’s ever been.

Thanks, friends!
