Two musicians with strong ties to Saskatchewan are in town tonight to play shows. First off, there’s Saskatoon’s Jen Lane who is launching a new album called This Life of Mine. That show is at the Artful Dodger, and will see Lane perform with a six-piece band.

Following a show at the Bassment in her home town on Saturday, Lane will be hitting the road for a tour that will take her across the country from Vancouver to Montreal, with a stop at Cameron House in Toronto for a residency. If you want to get some background on what Lane has been up to lately, which involved being house-bound for a good 18 months with a health issue related to her foot/ankle, you can check out a story we did in the Feb. 18 issue.

Also in Regina tonight is singer-songwriter Joel Fafard who will be playing a show at Slate Gallery (2078 Halifax). Doors there are at 7 p.m., and tickets are $20.

To give you a sense of what Lane’s new album sounds like, here’s the video for the first single “Movin’ On”:
