Two picnics are being held today to commemorate Labour Day.
The first goes from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Les Sherman Park (College Ave. and Elphinstone St.) and is being sponsored by the Regina & District Labour Council and SGEU, Local 1101. The second goes at the Legislative Grounds from noon to 4 p.m., and is sponsored by Saskatchewan Provincial Building & Construction Trades Council
With the Sask. Party government in the midst of a massive review of labour legislation that potentially could turn the clock back six or seven decades as far as labour standards go in the province, those who attend this gathering will doubtlessly have plenty to talk about. Although there will be plenty of food, games and other entertainment to keep everyones’ spirits up.
