Six In The Morning: It’s Tuesday All Right

1 WE’RE OUT We knew it was coming but now Canada has officially pulled out of the Kyoto Accord. Remember when we invented peacekeeping and we were awesome? This is the opposite of that. We should be ashamed.

2 QUEBEC VS CANADA The province announces it’s going to take legal action against the Harper government to keep information collected by the soon-to-be-defunct long-gun registry.

3 THINK HIGGS Physicists are closer to finding the elusive, still-unproven Higgs-Boson, a theoretical particle that surrounds us, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together.

4 OFF TO EDMONTON Saskatchewan premier Brad Wall will meet with Alberta premier Alison Redford and B.C. premier Christy Clark to chat about the New West Partnership which is not TILMA.

5 FOUR KILLED IN BELGIUM Some asshole threw grenades into a crowd. What’s wrong with people?

6 THERE’S A BEAR IN MY TRUCK As a passenger, obviously. Bears don’t drive. You can of course follow this bear on Twitter: @downtown_bear.

  1. Kyoto was like a pickup hockey game, the little guys have to play fair, the two biggest guys named China and India can cheat anytime they want. Another Liberal mistake finally made right.

  2. Ambivalent, 20+ years of bullshitting and excuse-making from government and industry finally put to rest. It is kind of a relief, but for the wrong reason.

We can bitch all we want about China and India, but we don’t want to reduce emissions or prevent trade of dirty resources with Asia, so while we bitch, we squeal with delight that China/India offers up this awesome excuse to do NOTHING.

  3. Nice that I can comment on a LP article here in the Pdogg blog.

So, Bradley wants “federal greenhouse gas emissions standards”.
Peter Kent is going to tell him now that he’s S O L on getting any money from polluters, because apparently the sky’s the limit.

New west parnership,(ha), interests, Sk,interests? Very vague statement.
