Saturday, Nov. 8 the Regina Folk Festival is presenting Vancouver-based singer-songwriter/chanteuse Jill Barber as part of its Concert Series. Barber is touring in support of her latest album Fool’s Gold which was released in early June.

If you check out this Ottawa Citizen article which was published in advance of Barber’s appearance at the Ottawa Jazz Festival in late June you’ll see that the album came on the heels of Barber giving birth to her first child (a son) in August 2013. You’ll also see that, consistent with earlier offerings in her 10-year plus career, the album offers a blend of styles from jazz and folk to soul and country.

This RFF-sponsored concert goes Saturday night at  the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. Tickets are $25 advance and $32 at the door. To give you a sense of what to expect, here’s video from 2013 of Barber performing “Never Quit Loving You”:
