James Brotheridge is our resident figure skating expert at prairie dog. Me, not so much. But I do know that from Nov. 30-Dec. 4 Regina is hosting a mega-huge competition at the multi-ice surfaced Co-operators Centre at Evraz Place.
According to Skate Canada (www.skatecanada.ca ), over 500 skaters will be competing in Novice, Junior and Senior categories. It’s their only chance to qualify for the 2012 Canadian Figure Skating Championships and 2012 Skate Canada Junior Nationals. In Canadian figure-skating, the stakes don’t get any higher than that.
