Wednesday Lunchtime Kitty!

Someone put up this video of their awesome cat lip-syncing Tom Jones’ “She’s A Lady”, and I thought I’d share it! HILARIOUS!

UPDATE: Well shit. Thanks to the indirect effects of the United State’s odious PIPA legislation, I’ve had to pull the cute kitten video down because it infringed on copyright. Oh well. You can read about Tom Jones here.

And here’s a video I don’t have to take down that explains the problem with berserk, over-reaching copyright protection legislation.

  1. I completely support any action taken against the passage of these draconian bills, however, the above video uses a few fallacies.

For instance, the narrator argues that Hollywood “doesn’t contribute that much to the economy” but has just mentioned that the reason Hollywood wants these bills is because they’re losing potential revenue to pirating.

They also claim this legislation will make the Internet less stable. This is perhaps true but it is not disclosed why or how this would occur.

The argument with the video of a baby with music playing in the background is a clear appeal to emotion, along with the MPAA suing “families and children.”

Once again I want to state that I am fully against SOPA/PIPA but we need good arguments on both sides if we’re going to have a rational debate.
