Tyler Gilbert

Tyler Gilbert is a Regina-based singer-songwriter. Last year he was nominated in the Emerging Artist category in the Mayor’s Arts & Business Awards. He also recently released an album called OK Murphy. On Saturday he’ll be playing a CD release with a full band featuring songs off the album along with two previous releases Vos (2008) and Tyler’s World (2011). Gilbert cites Neil Young, Zakk Wylde and Stevie Wonder as his principle influences.

The show’s at the Artful Dodger, and will include a back-up set by Regina singer-songwriter Val Halla. Doors are at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10. To close, here’s the video for Gilbert’s song “Break Free” off Tyler’s World. The song features cello accompaniment by Yana Bilyk
