This Week In Dead People – Update

Might as well do it right. UPDATE: Roger Ebert, Margaret ThatcherRaveen, ReveenAnnette Funicello: all dead.  And Johnny Esaw and Les Blank, who were not part of the wallpaper of my childhood, which seems to be peeling away with each death.

Play em off, Arcade Fire!*

*Also not part of my childhood, though it feel like it is.

  1. I remember there was a flurry of celebrity deaths over the course of late 2008 to early 2010… Paul Newman, Dom Deluise, Corey Haim, etc. It was like, here we go, there goes the celebrity-class. I don’t think we’ll weep the same way for Jeff Probst or Honey Boo Boo 40-50 years from now.

  2. I enjoyed Reveen’s performances in Saskatoon during 1987 (my birthday present as a kid) and 2000 (his last tour).
Even in death, Margaret Thatcher is both admired and yet so hated by those who can’t stand someone who stood up against any opposition. Can’t a dead person aka the Iron Lady just RIP?

Since when does Carle know how to use the force?
