The ‘Spock’s Beard’ Jokes Will Begin in Six, Five, Four …

Zach Quinto outs himself. (Gawker) Whatever, and good for him. At least he didn’t wait for Perez Hilton or to do it for him.

Oh yeah. Same goes for Simon Tam on Firefly. (Entertainment Weekly)

  1. Zach Quinto is gay? Finally, a guy I never heard of owns up to his sexuality. Why is ‘gay’ news?

  2. It’s news because the general public is interested in it, given the fact that it is being reported by multiple sources.

And I think its great that more celebrities (despite you not knowing who they are) are coming out. I think its important for GLBT celebs to keep coming out, too. The more gay people that are visible to the kids who feel alone for being different the better. It helps to overcome the pain of feeling like a freak if you know that there are more people out there living authentic lives.

You may not give a shit about some guy coming out, but it is one part of making the world a better place for those GLBT people who are struggling on their own.

  3. “It became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it – is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality”

    Powerful, inspiring, and admirable.

Agreed. I think he’s a very good actor, though with a BIT of a propensity for chewing the scenery, as they say. But an excellent Spock, no arguments there at all. Sylar a bit less so, but I actually attribute that to the writing, not the actor.
