Who didn’t love the blitz and flopsweat of last month’s 31 Days of Music feature here on the Dog Blog? For the last 12 days I’ve been racking my brains trying to figure out how to carry over the success of 31 Days into the new year. And then it came to me.
Just post the dang music, dude, and, like Ludacris says, get out the way. Simple as that. I didn’t even bother emailing Stephen or James or Gillian or Aidan or Paul–you know, the ones who came through and made 31 Days such a smash–to see if they had any ideas about how to post music to the Dog Blog in 2011. Why would I? I’m a maverick. They’re all smart people, they’ll figure it out.
Our first pick is from Darren Hayman (once of the indiepop group Hefner), who is doing a 31 Days of Music of his own this month. Only he calls it January Songs, and instead of picking songs off the Internet, he’s actually writing and recording a song a day all month.
