After learning through the grapevine that its music had been used by the U.S. military to torture detainees at Guantanamo Bay by subjecting them to sleep deprivation, the Vancouver industrial noise band Skinny Puppy announced recently that it was sending an invoice to the U.S. government to cover the cost of the unauthorized use of its music.

The odds of them getting a response are probably pretty long. But the experience apparently did serve as inspiration for Skinny Puppy’s latest studio album Weapon. To close, here’s the video for “illisiT” off the 2013 album:
