Six In The Morning: Spoke Too Soon

6-in-the-morning1 IT’S NOT OVER YET Yesterday morning I wrote, “Kenyan security forces have regained control of a shopping mall that was the scene of a massacre perpetrated by horrible Islamist douchebags.” Ha, we wish. Well, apparently the Kenyan Mall War of 2013 IS almost over now, with security forces saying there are only a few douchbags still holed up in the mall.

2 REFERENDUM UPDATE Here’s an extremely basic, “referendum 4 beginners” story on CBC; a story on the City’s referendum campaign; allegations that supposed-to-be-impartial City polling stations were NOT impartial (which we’ve also covered);  and here’s CJME’s referendum debaffler: part one, part two and part three. Annnd here’s everything we’ve done on the blog, and in the current issue too.

3 PIRACY. REALLY? Russia says that’s what it’s going to charge Greenpeace activists with. What can we charge Russia with for contributing to ecocide by defending Arctic drilling? Oh right, wrecking Earth’s climate isn’t a crime. Here’s the latest on climate change for anyone who gives a shit.

4 BLACKBERRY STOCK MARKET YADDA YADDA People playing games with money.

5 PLAYING WITH FIRE First it was books, now a portable classroom has been torched. Idiots.

6 HAZY SHADE OF AUTUMN More details on the nonsense in Lanigan. I like this quote from an RCMP officer: “The tolerance level of the public and the victims and the parents at this juncture versus years past has obviously got a lot lower.”

AND THE POLARIS WINNER IS: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, for their album Allelujah! Don’t Bend! Ascend! Read about it here. Watch, listen and learn below.

  1. Take it easy on the kids, they were just celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of Dazed and Confused. (20 years to the day, today!)

By the way, the setting of Dazed and Confused is now three years closer to its release date than the present is. This ends another edition of Brad makes himself feel old.

  2. I do accept as true with all of the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They’re very convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are very short for starters. May you please prolong them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
