SaskTel Summer Invasion

Features wakeboarding, skateboarding, freestyle motocross, energy drink drinking, and other activities in Wascana Park. Action kicks off at noon today and Saturday, and culminates both nights with concerts that get going at 6 p.m.

The concert line-up had yet to be finalized the last time I checked the Summer Invasion website, but tonight the headliner is Swollen Members with Grandtheft and Def 3 and Factor also on the bill. Saturday, the headliner is Hedley with the Gaff, Sound Society, Halfway to Hollywood and Prop Planes also playing. Tickets are $49 each night, or $69 for a weekend pass.

To get everyone stoked here’s the video for the Halfway to Hollywood tune “Green Lights”:

  1. There’s rain in the forecast for the weekend so the Saturday evening concert has been moved to the Credit Union EventPlex. Tonight’s concert, along with all the outdoor Xtreme sports stuff are still a go in Wascana Centre.

  2. Isn’t the weather bad every year for this event? Crap summer weather’s in the majority here now tho so I guess what are you going to do?

  3. Ron: a number of years ago, the RFF dates were moved to August from May, both to co-ordinate better with other folk festivals in the country, and to increase the chances of good weather for the event. Given the last few years’ weather, when would you suggest it be held?

  4. Hi.Barb. The RFF is on that week BC many of the bands “tour” the Canadian FF circut. Edmonton yesterday Regina tommorrow.

Do we have to have just the bands that are easy to get..

I’m tired of HER playlist. ,but saying that… Charles Bradley was a hit with me. ( mine…)
