RSO Masterworks Concert

The first Masterworks concert of the Regina Symphony Orchestra’s 2015 season goes on Saturday Sept. 19 at Conexus Arts Centre. The evening opens with a champagne reception and gourmet meal at 5 p.m., and that will be followed at 8 p.m. by the concert featuring newly appointed concertmaster Simon MacDonald as guest soloist.

The concert is titled Simon Plays Mozart and will be highlighted by Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. Brahm’s Symphony No. 4 is also on the program, along with Jonathan Ward’s Canadian Medley.

Ticket information can be found on the RSO website. If you go there, you’ll see that this will by Maestro Victor Sawa final opening night wielding the baton before he retires next season. The opening night gala also includes a performance by Jeffery Straker.
