Every year around this time the Regina Symphony Orchestra holds a concert geared toward families with young children. The concerts aren’t restricted to family groups, but they are designed to appeal to children and introduce them to classical music.
This year’s concert goes Sunday Dec. 6 at Knox Met Church. There’s an hour of fun and creative activities at 1:30 p.m. followed by the concert at 3 p.m.
I’m not sure exactly how it’s structured, but the concert will involve an orchestral recreation of Roch Carrier’s beloved 1979 story The Hockey Sweater about a French Canadian boy who receives an unwelcome surprise when his mother orders a new hockey sweater for him from the Eaton’s catalogue.
You can find more info on the concert on the RSO website.
