Pick of the Day: The Trews

Hailing from Nova Scotia, The Trews trace their roots back to their high school days in the late ’90s. They’ve been a presence on the Canadian and international music scene for a good ten years now, and tonight they’re playing at Casino Regina (8 p.m., tickets $30, $25.)

To give you a sense of what they”ve been up to lately, here’s the video for the title song off their 2011 album “Hope and Ruin”.

Also on tonight, New Country Rehab is at the Exchange. They’re an alt-country band out of Toronto, and the show’s being presented by Grassroots Regina. Here’s the video for the group’s 2011 single “Cameo”

Finally, at O’Hanlon’s Pub there’s a triple bill of high energy dance pop with Sidney York (Calgary), Violent Kin (Saskatoon) and The Fortunate Isles (Regina). Here’s the video for the first band’s 2011 song “Dick & Jane”.
