“If music be the food of love, play on” is a famous quote from the first act of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
Valentine’s Day, of course, isn’t until Monday. But if you’re planning on celebrating tonight here’s a couple of musical options to keep in mind.
As part of its Masterworks Series, the Regina Symphony Orchestra is presenting Musique of Love at Conexus Arts Centre at 8 p.m. Guest artists are the Bergmann Piano Duo (pictured), and the program will include compositions by Debussey, Polenc, Mercure and Chabrier. For ticket info call 586-9555.
If your taste runs more to head-banging metal, the Exchange is hosting the Valentine’s Day Massacre tonight. Featured will be the bands In Darkness, Day One, Suffersurge and Rough Tripp.
Further on the Bergmanns, if you’re blessed with grubs and are looking for something family friendly to do Sunday afternoon, the RSO are teaming up with them to present a Kids Concert at Conexus Arts Centre at 2:30 p.m. Featured will be a performance of Carnival of the Animals. Again, for more info call 586-9555.
