Pick of the Day: Kid Rock

Wowed them last July while backing up Bon Jovi at Mosaic Stadium. Returns tonight to headline his own gig at Brandt Centre with Maritime rockers The Trews as the opening act. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

To give you a taste, here’s the Kid Rock video for “Cowboy”.

  1. Bottom-dwelling rock legend. A sign of things to come.

    Classic rock radio in crisis.

  2. There were four big tour busses parked at the Hotel Sask last night, and a couple of limos by the side door.

  3. When most thoughtful young sensitive PD-reading types were rejecting Kid Rock as misogynistic and dim in the late 90s/early 2000s, many of us were rejecting Kid Rock purely on the basis that he sucks.

  4. TFJr.: What about people such as me? I rejected him not just because he was misogynistic and dim, and also because his music sucked …

  5. Stephen LaRose, you’re a “third way’er”! Tho, one could argue, PoliSci 200-level-style, that misogyny and dimness are part in parcel of shitty music, so… chicken or egg thing. As for misogyny, can’t be too sensitive now… chicks like a little misogyny these days. Tho, I prefer, like, Greg Dulli to Kid Rock.
