Pick Of The Day: Iron And Wine

Born in South Carolina, and now based in Texas, Iron and Wine (a.k.a. Samuel Beam) is best-known as a solo singer-songwriter in the folk vein. With his last album Ghost On Ghost, though, he moved toward more of a pop and jazz sound with a full band.

Tonight Iron and Wine is in town to play a show as part of the Regina Folk Festival Concert Series at University of Regina Theatre. According to RFF publicity, Beam will be in full band mode. Doors are at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $30 advance and $35 door.

The number to call for tickets is 306-525-6400, and to get you in the mood for the gig here’s the video for “Joy” off Ghost On Ghost:
