Pick of the Day (Tomorrow Edition): Finntroll

A bunch of kids from Finland who delight in posting inflammatory comments on blogs to get a rise out of website administrators and other more serious-minded commentators?

Uh, not exactly.

Finntroll does hail from Finland. But they’re a metal band who take their name from an old Scandinavian legend. They further honour their roots by incorporating an element of Finnish folk music (humppa) into their head-banging ouevre.

Wednesday night, Finntroll are playing an all-ages gig at the Exchange with Ensiferum, Rotten Sound and Barren Earth. Doors are at 7 p.m. To get the ol’ neck muscles warmed up here’s the video for their song “Solsagan
