Pick of the Day: Dark Dark Dark

Hailing from Minneapolis, Dark Dark Dark are a wandering group of multi-instrumentalists (accordian, bass, banjo, clarinet, drums, trumpet, and more) whose sound defies easy categorization.

The term the Leader-Post elected to use in the headline of a preview by Ashley Martin in last Thursday’s paper was “chamber folk”. After listening to the video for their song “Daydreaming” I’d have to say that that’s not a bad way to describe them.

Tonight, the group performs at the Club (2431 8th Ave).

  1. Defies easy categorization, meaning can’t be compared to either just Husker Du or just The Replacements… haha. Minneapolis thing.
