Mother Mother

Based in Vancouver, Mother Mother have been rocking the Canadian indie scene since 2005. I’m not sure what the exact origins of the band’s name are, but since the group is fronted by siblings Ryan and Molly Guldemond, it’s somewhat appropriate.

On Saturday, Nov. 29 Mother Mother will be in town to play a show at the university bar the Owl. The band is touring in support of its fifth full-length Very Good Bad Thing which was released in October. The back-up band is the Toronto dance duo USS, and tickets are $27.50.

To give you a taste of what to expect, here’s the video for the first single off Mother Mother’s latest album “Get Out of the Way”:

  1. Blame the early hour, but when I read this: “…but since the group is fronted by siblings Ryan and Molly Guldemond, it’s somewhat appropriate,” I actually read it as “but since the group is fronted by gap-toothed siblings Ryan and Molly Guldemond, it’s somewhat appropriate.” I liked it.
