Giant Hole Menaces Downtown Saskatoon

I know what some of you are thinking. But I’m going to take the high road here and refrain from posing the obvious question. Instead, I’m just going to post a link to the Leader-Post report which it bummed from its sister paper in Saskatoon.

  1. See, if this was in YQR, the headline would read “Downtown is giant hole, menaces Regina”. #rimshot,#OHYESIWENTTHERE

“I know what some of you are thinking” – Now I’m curious. The only thing I immediately thought of was “Did any of our elected officials fall in?”

  2. The obvious question for a certain segment of Regina’s population (but not me, and probably not most of our readers) would be how do you distinguish between the hole in the street that the news report focuses on, and the general hole that is Saskatoon. It’s like a hole within a hole. When does one end and the other start?

  3. For Regina to call Saskatoon a hole is pretty laughable. Pretty sure my loyalties are mostly with Regina, but any aesthetic comparison does Regina no favours.

  4. Saskatoon a hole? Cathedral WISHES it could be Broadway. The “lake” WISHES it could be the river. Albert, Vic East, Rochdale, and Broad ALL COMBINED wish they could be 8th Street. And Regina’s downtown vs. Saskatoon’s? Not even CLOSE. I like Regina a lot, but we could stand to learn a few things from Saskatoon.

  5. And Saskatoon WISHES it didn’t care so much about Regina’s opinion and always having to compare itself to Regina, whereas Regina thinks Saskatoon is a nice burg but truly doesn’t worry about what it thinks.
