Geoff Berner

With over to 20 years under his belt as a musician, Vancouver-based Geoff Berner’s been through town a few times. He got his start with the punk band Terror of Tiny Town, and has long incorporated klezmer influences via his accordion that reflect his Jewish heritage.

Both in his studio recordings and live performances, Berner’s never shied away from taking politically provocative stances on progressive issues, and that’s contributed to his cult status as a musician and entertainer.

Tonight Berner’s in town to play a show at the Artful Dodger. The support act is the¬†Whiskey Jerks.¬†Here’s video from earlier this year of Berner performing the song “Condos” at a Downtown Eastside fundraiser in Vancouver:
