This nine-piece Vancouver funk band has been through town a few times now. Last July, I caught them at O’Hanlon’s on a rare Sunday night gig. With horns, percussion, guitars and high energy vocals, they definitely know how to get the dance floor grooving.
In early June Five Alarm Funk released their fifth studio album Abandon Earth which the band describes as a concept album with a narrative tied to the destruction of Earth by a giant robot.
On Wednesday July 22 Five Alarm Funk will be in town to play a show at McNally’s Tavern. Here’s the video for the first single off the new album called “Robots”
