Belle Plaine Tonight!

I dunno whose “whoopsies” it was — betting money’s on mine — but our cover story on Belle Plaine doesn’t mention her show tonight at the Creative City Centre. Well, trust me — she’s got a show tonight at the new CCC at 1843 Hamilton Street. Doors are 7:30 and tickets are a mere $15. Worth your time even if you caught last night’s show.

Here’s Belle Plaine at the Mercury Cafe. See? Good! Go to the show!

  1. I don’t know if it’s just me but the folk music industry has become banal and insipid. It seems to be more about being pretty and nice than anything else. There are far more women in it now and the lyrics are trite, simplistic, shallow, and for this like me who write some edgy stuff, they become critical and rude. It’s to where I loathe going to see women performers for the sheer boredom they inspire. If the vocals were like kd Lang or ? or they picked good songs to cover — but they all try to be as good and nice like the others, not different, insightful, deep, awe inspiring!! Bring some smelly, unkempt dope smoking dog breathed beatniks any time!!!!!
