Awww. That’s A Shame.

Any start up operation will find it hard going for the first while, but Sun TV aka Fox News North is having a hard time both in attracting viewers (Toronto Star) and keeping the cable companies happy (Globe And Mail). But given that Sun isn’t so much an outlet for journalism as it’s a a form of wingnut welfare for Canada’s hard right community, and it’s already in big economic trouble (otherwise they wouldn’t be trying to get out of paying Bell) all I can say is this … actually, I’ll let Jerry Seinfeld do it.

A MESSAGE TO OUR READERS The coronavirus pandemic is a moment of reckoning for our community. We’re all hurting. It’s no different at Prairie Dog, where COVID-19 has wiped out advertisements for events, businesses and restaurants as Regina and Saskatchewan hunker down in quarantine. As an ad-supported newspaper already struggling in a destabilized media landscape, this is devastating. We’re hoping you, our loyal readers, can help fill in the gap so Prairie Dog can not only continue to exist but even expand our coverage — both in print and online. Please consider donating, either one-time or, even better, on a monthly basis.

We believe Prairie Dog's unique voice is needed, now more than ever. For 27 years, this newspaper has been a critical part of Regina’s social, cultural and democratic infrastructure. Don’t let us fade away. There’s only one Prairie Dog. If it’s destroyed, it’s never coming back.

  1. Why does the myth that right-wingers are good with money persist? This will be third hard right media venture Ezra Levant has been involved in that has failed financially. By their own free market standards, that’s a pretty clear sign that nobody wants or needs their “services”.

  2. So, given that these folks are right wing ideologues who think that only the “market” can assign worth — what does this failure tell us? That their ideas simply aren’t up to snuff?
For the record, I also laughed like hell when the Atlas Shrugged movie did nothing at the box office.
