Shayla got her start in the music industry in Regina when she sold the car she’d bought in high school to bankroll her first recording session in Los Angeles. Since then, she’s continued to write and record in L.A. and Toronto, and released several singles — her most recent being a video for “Touch & Go” which came out on May 21. /Gregory Beatty

I was introduced to this song by a friend. We were on our way to a photo shoot I had, and he played it. Within the first few seconds I fell in love with it. I love how raw LANY’s lyrics are, especially in this song.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a thing for Justin Bieber (Yes… I was one of those girls, lol). I love how you can hear in Justin’s new music how much he’s grown in the past few years. This album is 100 per cent on my list of top fav albums over the past year.

I have always loved Julia’s writing style. Her authentic vocals add so much to her music. I love how this song starts out so pretty with beautiful finger picking on an acoustic guitar and then builds into this huge production. The writing and production is a prime example of how a pop song is supposed to be crafted.

Maroon 5 has hit home for me ever since I was a kiddo. I love the tone of Adam Levine’s voice and this song is such a summer BOP!

I know this song is a few years old but it’s one that’s stuck with me. Even though I’m a pop artist I have a soft side for dance music. It’s so freeing and uplifting! Gryffin is for sure one of my top DJs I want to work with!

“Feelings”

I love Lauv because he brings a new feel to pop music. His writing style is so unique, and I love the production direction of all his music. I would’ve picked the whole album if I could — “Feelings” is just one of the songs I truly love.
