As I’ve observed in the past this annual showcase is always a reliable sign of spring approaching. It involves three organizations that present summer music festivals (Gateway, Ness Creek and the Regina Folk Festival) holding an audition to scout local talent for their line-ups.
This year’s version goes at Bushwakker Brew Pub on Saturday, March 19. The event gets going at 7 p.m., and admission is $10. Acts that are vying for spots include Kirby Criddle, Josh Gonzales, Etienne Fletcher, Wolf Willow, Eric Taylor and Poor Nameless Boy.
To give you a sense of the talent that will be on display, here’s a live performance by Poor Nameless Boy that was recorded in January at the Artesian on 13th. The song’s called “Atlantic Ocean”, and it’s off Poor Nameless Boy’s 2016 album Bravery.
