Over the last month, a variety of fundraising and other community initiatives have been held to provide financial and other support for people from the Middle East who will be arriving in Regina as part of the airlift of refugees from the region.

On the evening of Friday Jan. 8, Lancaster Taphouse is partnering with a group of local musicians to produce a fundraiser of their own for newcomers to Canada. Artists who will be performing include Megan Nash, Val Halla, Judith Morrissey and Corey Ruecker with Dan Besuijen. Taron Cochrane is MCing, and the proceeds will go to Regina Open Door Society.
