If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday Oct. 24, Library Voices will be playing a release show at the Exchange for their new album Lovish. The album follows on the heels of a 2014 EP called For John.

“Inspiration” is the wrong word to use, but one motivator for Carl Johnson, who contributed seven songs to the album, was a vicious beating that he and fellow band member Eoin Hickey-Cameron suffered on the night of Eoin’s bachelor party at the hands of some local idiots out for a bit of hate crime action. You can read about it in this issue’s cover story by Hank Videoclip.

The remaining members of Library Voices are Michael Dawson, Amanda Scandrett, Mike Thievin, Paul Gutheil and Brennan Ross. For Saturday’s show they’ll be joined by the Regina rock duo Surf Dads and other guests.
