Friday’s the start of a long weekend, of course. If you’re looking for something to do,  the local psych-rock group Snake River is having an album release at the German Club that night.

If you’re up to speed on the Regina music scene, the quartet of musicians who make up the band should be familiar to you. The band is fronted by Chris Sleightholm, and includes John De Gennaro on guitar, Dustin Gamracy on drums and Whistlin’ Jeff M on bass.

Last year, Snake River released a bit of a concept album called McKruski that was set in the fictional town of Snake River Mountain. The new album is titled Songs From the Adjacent Room.

Again, the launch is on Friday Sept. 4 at the German Club. Radiation Flowers and Oiseaux are the back-up act, and to give you a sense of what Snake River’s been up to lately here’s the video for the song “Resonating On”
