Born in Waterloo in 1970, Michel has pursued music as a career since the mid-1990s. Since 2003, he’s worked mostly as a solo act, and has appeared in Regina several times. Recently, he’s spent some time living in Belize where he’s collaborated indigenous musicians in the Central American country.
On Saturday June 13 he’ll be in town to play a show at the Artful Dodgers (doors at 8 p.m., tickets $20 advance, $25 door). The gig is part of a western Canadian tour, and according to his website, Michel is driving from city to city in a 1978 van with a custom Star Trek paint job.
If you click the above link, you’ll see a shot of the van. You’ll also learn that during the tour Michel is inviting musicians from different cities to sit for an interview and then perform in the van. The goal is to turn the material into a free webcast in the months to come.
