We had a visit this morning from Glenn LaPointe who is part of the creative team behind Regina’s entry in the Cine Coup II contest that’s underway now. Patient 62 is the title of their SF/mystery project, and it concerns a man who is looking to track down his missing sister.
When I posted on the project in early April fan voting was just getting started and there were 75 film-making teams in the running for the million dollar prize to help bring their project to the big screen.
Patient 62 has survived the first two rounds of cuts, and now only 30 teams remain. Voting to reduce that number to 15 ends on Friday May 8. To help drum up some last minute support, LaPointe said they would be holding a special promo at O’Hanlon’s Thursday at 7 p.m. to screen their trailer and let people know more details on the project.

Coincidentally, there was a report in today’s Leader-Post about the possibility of a Wolf Cop sequel being shot in Saskatchewan. Producers are in negotiations to see if they can pry $500,000 in funding from Creative Saskatchewan as part of an overall $3 million budget to make it happen.
