Written by Jason Robert Brown, this musical premiered in Chicago in 2001 before enjoying a successful (and award-winning) off-Broadway run in New York. It recounts the rocky five-year relationship between a rising novelist and a struggling actress. There’s a couple of narrative threads, apparently, with the main storyline progressing chronologically while the woman’s story is told in reverse chronological order.

Starting tonight, Golden Apple Theatre is presenting The Last Five Years at the Artesian. The production will feature Leon Willey and Kaitlyn Semple in the two main roles. It runs at the Artesian from Feb. 3-14, with curtain at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 and more information can be found on the Artesian website.
