While not a founding member of the Eagles, guitarist Don Felder was with the band for the period (1974-80) when they enjoyed their greatest commercial success prior to their break-up. His time with the band coincided with their move from country rock to more pop-orientated rock. Spurring that shift was the release in 1976 of Hotel California — which Felder shares writing credits on.

When the Eagles reunited in 1994, Felder was part of the group, but was fired in 2001. The split was acrimonious, and Felder later penned a tell-all autobiography titled Heaven and Hell: My Life With the Eagles (1974-2001).

On Friday, Jan. 16 Felder will be in town to play this show at Casino Regina. As you can tell from the title, the focus will be on the Hotel California album. But he has a couple of solo albums to his credit so I would expect he’ll perform some of those tunes too.

Doors are at 7:15 p.m., and tickets are $52, $57. To give you a sense of what to expect, here’s video from 1977 of the band playing the title track to Hotel California:
