QUEEN CITY CONFIDENTIAL by Anonymous
It’s rude to assume someone works in a store just because they’re young and standing near you. Don’t see a name tag? They’re not dressed like the employees? They’re carrying heavy shopping bags? Leave them alone — they’re customers, not retail-work hostages for you to harass and annoy. No it is not all right to then get angry with them for “wasting your time”. If anything, you’re wasting their time — and making a rather nice shopping trip unbearable.
There’s a difference between unintentionally speaking to the wrong person and being an utter asshat. Remember that old saying, ‘when you assume you make an ass out of you and me’? From now on when you make an ass out of yourself, leave me out of it.
AND LEAVE THE ACTUAL EMPLOYEES ALONE TOO WHILE YOU’RE AT IT Queen City Confidential is an open forum for Prairie Dog readers to anonymously share their petty rants, workplace gripes, romantic woes and complaints about friends and family. You can say nice things too. E-mail your submission to confidential@prairiedogmag.com (type CONFIDENTIAL in the subject field). Change everyone’s names and identifying details. Submissions must be 100-200 words and will only be accepted if they don’t annoy minimum wage workers. You’re not the boss of them.
