Awhile back I did a short blog post on an appearance by acclaimed 1960s folk icon Art Garfunkel at Casino Regina. On Friday, Nov. 7 the casino welcomes another titan from that era when Canadian folk legend Gordon Lightfoot takes the stage. Fans likely remember the health scares Lightfoot had in the early and mid-2000s related to an abdominal aortic aneurysm and a stroke, but he’s since recovered and in 2012 performed his “Canadian Railroad Trilogy” as part of the half-time show at the 100th Grey Cup in Toronto.

Friday’s show at Casino Regina comes just 10 days before Lightfoot celebrates his 76th birthday. Doors are at 7:15 p.m., and tickets areĀ $75/$80. To close, here’s video of Lightfoot’s Grey Cup performance:
