There’s some rock’em sock’em flat track roller derby action scheduled for the Callie Curling Club (2225 Sandra Schmirler Way) later today. Sometimes the bouts presented by the Pile ‘O Bones Derby Club feature teams from out of town, other times local house squads lock horns with each other. In addition to the adult competitions, there’s sometimes junior bouts as well.
The local clubs are the Bone City Beaver Dames, Lockdown Lolitas and 306th Bombshell Battalion. I believe it is those teams that will be in action tonight. The bouts are licensed, and there’s food vendors at the Callie as well. Doors are at 6 p.m., and tickets are $12 advance and $15 at the door, with kids ten and under free.
In addition to tonight’s competition, bouts are scheduled for July 12, Aug. 9, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. You can find out more about the Pile ‘O Bones Derby Club here.
