I’ve posted before about a lecture series that the University of Regina’s Faculty of Arts has been hosting to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I. On Monday, June 23 the Regina Public Library, Dunlop Art Gallery, Civic Museum of Regina and Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild will join forces to present a walking tour of downtown Regina to examine sites of significance to city residents during the Great War which lasted from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918.
The walking tour is aimed at adults and will run between 6:30-9 p.m. Included will be a screening of the documentary A Soldier’s Voice (Gyro Productions) at the RPL Theatre. To register call 306-777-6120. In case of inclement weather, the tour will go on Tuesday, June 24. And participants are also invited to tour the Civic Museum of Regina at its new location (1375 Broad St.) on Wednesday, June 25 from 6-7:30 p.m.
