Three musicians of aboriginal descent are featured on this bill: George Leach, Cris Derksen and Kristi Lane Sinclair. Derksen and Sinclair (along with guest musicians along the way) are in the midst of a 14 city tour which started in Vancouver May 16 and will culminate in Brooklyn, NY on June 1. Tomorrow night (Thursday) they’ll be playing at Artful Dodger (1631 11th Ave.) with Leach.
Leach was in the news recently when he won Aboriginal Album of the Year at the 2014 Juno Awards in Winnipeg for Survivor. Classic rock and r & b are his musical genres of choice, while Sinclair favours a blend of folk, grunge and classical and Derksen is a cellist and composer.
