Here’s a heads up about an exhibition that opens at the Art Gallery of Regina next week. It’s by Val Marie artist Laureen Marchand, and the subject matter is roses.
As you can tell by the adjacent photo, though, the blooms, while not quite off the roses entirely, are definitely in a failing state. That’s consistent with the theme of the exhibition which deals with notions of beauty, loss, decline and aging with the roses meant to evoke the human presence.
BeholderĀ opens at the AGR on April 9. There’s a reception on that day from 7-9 p.m., and the exhibition runs until May 12.
