Hosted by the University of Regina’s School of Journalism, this lecture is named after legendary Canadian journalist James Minifie who has roots in Saskatchewan.

Speaking this year is CBC foreign correspondent Nahlah Ayed. Currently based in London, Ayed spent most of the past decade covering the Middle East for CBC. In that capacity, she traveled widely in the region and reported  on a wide range of conflicts and challenges facing the people who live there.

In 2012, she authored the book A Thousand Farewells: A Reporter’s Journey from Refugee Camp to the Arab Spring. The Minifie lecture goes Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Education Auditorium at the University of Regina.
