If you’re looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day with some live music there’s a decent assortment of options available.
First off, as we noted in last issue’s cover story Belle Plaine & the Unrequited Love are playing at the Artesian on 13th. The group boasts a lot of local star power. In addition to the lead singer, there’s contributions from band-mates Jeremy Sauer and Elizabeth Curry along with vocalist Anna Rose, Cheney Lambert (Pile O’ Bones Brass, trumpet), Karl Valiano (Pile O’ Bones Brass, sax), Tyler Hammer (Lazy MKs, drummer) and Chris Sleightholm (Lonesome Weekends, lead guitar). Doors are at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15.
In keeping with the jazz theme, the Regina Jazz Society is presenting a concert by Kaitlyn Semple (pictured) at LeBistro (3850 Hillsdale) at 8 p.m. The show is subtitled “The Lady’s In Love”, and Kaitlyn will be backed by a trio composed of Keiran Semple (Drums), James Anderson (Keys) and Peter Broda (Bass). Tickets are $15 for RJS members, $20 for non-members, and $5 for high school students.
At the Lancaster Taphouse, the Matt Taylor Jazz Trio will be performing. Meanwhile, at O’Hanlon’s Pub there’s a show by the Medicine Hat rock band the Robertson Privilege with Torches to Triggers and Perpetua. Finally, at the Artful Dodger there’s a show by Spellbound which bills itself as an Eric Clapton Tribute Band.
