I’ll leave it to Jorge and Shane to fill you in on who the contenders are for the 86th Academy Awards which go in Los Angeles on March 2. I do know that Ellen DeGeneres will host the gala where all the hardware will be handed out. Before that happens, though, the Regina Symphony Orchestra is presenting its annual salute to the under-appreciated art of motion picture scores.
When I last checked the RSO’s website the program for tonight’s concert, which goes at Conexus Arts Centre at 8 p.m., had yet to be set. But you can expect some pretty fine music from an array of blockbusters from Hollywood’s golden era up until present day. As always, patrons are encouraged to dress up as their favourite movie star or character to bring a bit of Tinseltown glamour to our barren winter outpost on the prairies.
