Based in Vancouver, Musica Intima is an eight-person vocal ensemble under the direction of Joanna Dundas. Over the last two weeks they’ve been on a bit of prairie tour that included gigs in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Today, they’re in Regina to perform as part of the Regina Musical Club’s 2013-14 season. The concert will be held at University Theatre, with the first note scheduled to be sung at 2 p.m. Tickets are Adults $25, Students and Seniors $20 and Children $5, while U of R Students are free with ID.
While in Regina, Musica Intima will also participate in events tied to Saskatchewan Choral Week. These include conducting workshop at Knox Met Church on Sunday Feb. 9 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. The workshop is open to high school and adult singers who are members of the Saskatchewan Choral Federation and the cost is $25 per singer. Other noteworthy events that are happening during Saskatchewan Choral Week include Sounds of Celebration which will see three Saskatchewan choirs perform at Knox Met Church on Saturday Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The choirs include Cantate Senior Choir, Conservatory Juventus Chamber Choir, and the Saskatoon Children’s Choir. Then on Monday through Wednesday Feb. 10-12 there will be noon hour concerts at Knox Met Church. Admission is $5, and the performers are Musica Intima on Monday, Chris Henderson on Tuesday and Jack Semple on Wednesday.
