This annual festival runs from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 this year. It kicks off with  Feast of Fiddles Thursday night at the Unitarian Centre (Angus & College Ave.). The concert is co-presented by the Mid-Winter Celtic Festival and Northern Lights Bluegrass & Old Tyme Music and will feature Troy MacGillivray, Karrnnel Sawitsky, Gordon Stobbe and JJ Guy. The concert is at7:30 p.m. and tickets are $15. 

On Friday the highlight will be a fiddlers’ jam at the Knotted Thistle pub at the Travelodge. It will start at 7:30 p.m., and before that there’s a gathering with entertainment at O’Hanlon’s Pub at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, there’s a festival stage at Cornwall Centre from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and the festival culminates with the Mid-Winter Ceilidh at the Exchange and SCES Club. It starts at 8 p.m., and features performances by Wendy MacIsaac and Mairi Rankin and the City of Regina Pipe Band.
