Presented by the Humanities Research Institute, the Faculties of Arts and Fine Arts, the Department of History and the Dr. John Archer Library at the University of Regina, this lecture series commemorates the 100th anniversary of World War I.
Tonight the focus is on theoretical and cultural interpretations of the Great War. Lectures will be given by U of R political science professor Martin Hewson (1914 and “History’s Bloodiest Century” — Normality, Singularity, or Anomaly?) and Queen’s University professor James Leith (The Great War and the Idea of Progress).
